Cairns

Another rainy start to the day and by mid afternoon it had settled in pretty solidly.  This morning we headed off to one of the pools at the caravan park for snorkeling lessons.  Scarlett happily jumped in the near freezing water, but didn't quite grasp the concept.  Max was a little more cautious and held off until mid morning.  He was more interested in riding his bike which he's mastered brilliantly.  Over to the playground and the kids lapped the bike track and gave daddy a chance to at least boot up the computer.  An hour later and it was on to the jumping pillows and we all had a go until Zachie took a stack off the side and copped a mouth full of gravel.  He didn't complain but it was time to keep moving.  On to the swimming pool and the kids braved the cold water.  Zachie attempted to go down the slide but opted out after the first slide when he was encouraged by Scarlett to go down head first and of course took in gallons of water. Again he didn't complain but he kept well away from it for the rest of morning. Lunch beckoned and it was back to the caravan.  The kids badgered us for an ice-cream when we stopped to get some bread.  So after all the "good" food was eaten we sent them off to the shops with $6 to buy one smartie ice-cream each.  When I asked for the change of course there wasn't any because the ice-creams cost so much.  Ten minutes later daddy went to see where they were and emerging from the shop was two very chuffed kids with python snakes in hand ready to eat.  Ah I don't think so.  I thought there wasn't any change.  So I made them empty their pockets and banished them from the shops.

  2. Oops my comment didn't post! I was saying I can't get over how the kids just keep growing taller with each photo. So you've hit cairns and probably moved on by now, so travel safe and speak soon. X Leigh
