Airlie Beach Whitsundays

Our last day today before we head on to Bowen.  Ricky boy went fishing with a charter this morning to just off Hayman Island.  He said he caught a few fish that were all too "small" to keep.  Yeh right, good one.  I didn't see any evidence of success, not even a photo.  So it was a very lazy day which was much appreciated by just hanging out at the caravan.  I spent the morning making raspberry muffins with the kids, playing shops and cafes with Miss Scarlett, colouring in, skyping mum and Aunty Lisa (my sister) and doing more loads of endless washing.  Rick built some Lego with Maxie when he got home.  The weather was stunning and Miss Scarlett spent most of the day in her bikini. We had a swim and play in the pool in the afternoon and again caught up with the Melbournians.  They promptly corrected me when I called them grey nomads and I now affectionately refer to them as the "blonde" nomads. They invited us to 'happy hour' but we declined as we had dinner plans.  We finished the day at a lovely restaurant called "Mr Bones" which served fabulous pizzas and had a great atmosphere by the lagoon in town.  I don't rate pizzas very often, but these were delicious with near perfect bases. A few vinos and we rolled out very content and ready for the count down to bed.
