Airlie Beach Whitsundays

OMG.  Who hit me with a sledge hammer?  And who's idea was it to drink all that wine?  Bad, bad idea and we are both suffering for it this morning.  Rick didn't get home until 3AM. I had some more sense and left around midnight but only because I was cold and the heater in our caravan was calling me. So over to farewell our new friends, and they were just as bad.  Tammy looked quite wounded and not up for a leisurely boat ride in this weather.  We were very sad to see them go. We swapped details and hope to meet again further up the line.  We decided to hold off on following them to Lindeman Island.  We can't get across there until Wednesday so we'll just see what happens.  On to the markets along the waterfront and they were a disappointment.  The fresh produce was great, but the stalls were limited so it took all of half an hour and we were ready to go.  Maxie got a fresh coconut and loved it and Miss Scarlett and Zachie had a frozen mango sorbet which Scarlett said was 'delicious'.  It was freezing and bleak with sleeting rain, so we headed back to the caravan.  And there we stayed.  I had a sleep with Zachie in the afternoon while Rick surfed the web and Scarlett and Maxie played in the playground with another set of friends.  Pizzas for dinner and early to bed tonight. It was so nice to have a nothing day. I couldn't help but wonder what our friends were doing on the island.  Cocktails?  Perhaps not.

  1. Oi. Have had a chance today to check over your blog in more detail. I've filled some of the big blank, that was conspicuous in its ommission, on your time in Port Macquarie. Humph!
