Noosa & Eumundi
Another slow start to the day organising washing and cleaning up our mess. Poor Sarah and Kev, they work so hard and I just marvel at how well they seem to do. Up and out the door by 7.30PM dropping Alfie off to school and little Lily at 3 is on the bus off to daycare at 7.15AM, four mornings a week. My kids are lucky to be surfacing at that time normally, so bless you Miss Sarah for being so organised. Hence, the very least I could do was make sure her house was tidy. So into Noosa for walk and lunch which turned out to be pies on the boardwalk. All the quick snacks are pretty pricey here, sushi was $8 a roll at the only Sushi joint along the strip. Even the mini mall at the back of hastings street was pretty univiting, so pies it was. We took the beach toys with us and settled in as we had been promising the kids a good play in the sand for a few days. And what a magic day it was. Sun beaming, sand glistening and the waves gently breaking on the shore. Rick took off to get some much needed supplies at Bunnings and the like, so it gave us a good chance to chill out in the sun. Ah, this is what holidaying is all about. The kids made some friends, although the beach was pretty quiet. Actually, its a brilliant time of the year to holiday here for that reason. The cafes aren't packed, the beach is dotted with people and the weather has been magic so far. T-shirts and shorts by lunch time. Scarlett even braved her bikini today. After 3 hours of waiting for Rick, the kids got a little restless so we packed up to go for a walk and in search of afternoon tea. Coincidentally, Bistro C one of my all time favourite restaurants just happened to have a happy hour sign out the front. And amazingly there was a free table outside just beckoning us in, so down went the scooters and in we went. Some colouring in pencils, mocktails, Mojito, and tapas later, we were in heaven. Kite surfers in the distance entertained the kids as did the barman that took a particular liking to Max. Rick finally surfaced three cocktails later and I was rocking. Home for more indulgence of course. Another beautiful fire, Charmaine Solomon's butter chicken and I was snoring on the lounge by 8.30PM.
